Start & register

Sole proprietorship setup.

Identify tax, premises and business registrations for the individual owner; there is no single central incorporation certificate.

Scope before commitment Requirements explained
01 / THE BIG PICTURE

The right support.
With the details in view.

Start an owner-run business with a practical map of the registrations its activity and location actually require. A sole proprietorship has no single central incorporation certificate. We help connect the proprietor’s identity with tax, premises, banking and sector requirements without suggesting that one optional registration creates a separate entity.

First, establish what applies

Entity formation, tax registrations and optional recognition schemes are different steps. Udyam and Startup India recognition do not replace incorporation or operating licences.

What the scoped work can cover

  • Activity and location-based registration map
  • Document packs for agreed applications
  • Owner’s setup and record-keeping checklist
02 / GET READY

The documents.
A clearer starting point.

Use this as a preparation list for the initial review. The final checklist is confirmed against the applicant, service route, location and current authority requirements.

  1. 01

    Proprietor’s PAN and identity proof

  2. 02

    Business address and occupancy evidence

  3. 03

Trading name and precise activity description

  4. 04

Expected turnover, sales channels and customer locations

  5. 05

Existing GST, local or professional registration details, if any

Share sensitive records only through an agreed secure channel after the engagement is confirmed. Do not send passwords, OTPs or signing keys.

03 / HOW IT MOVES FORWARD

One step.
Then the next.

A clear sequence, with room to resolve the details that are specific to your business.

  1. 01

    Understand the business

Record the owner, premises, activities and planned channels of sale.

  2. 02

    Map applicable registrations

Review GST, local establishment, professional and product-specific requirements.

  3. 03

    Prepare chosen applications

Organise evidence separately for each applicable registration.

  4. 04

    Build operating records

Set up a registration tracker and identify banking and invoice requirements.

Scope, fees and timing are agreed after review. Document readiness, professional review and any authority queries affect the schedule. Statutory charges, testing, execution and other third-party costs are identified where relevant.

04 / BEYOND THIS STEP

Keep the next
responsibility in view.

Maintain separate business records and banking discipline, review tax obligations and reassess registrations when the business adds premises, products or sales channels.

Explore obligations beyond your core business
05 / A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Good questions.
Useful answers.

01Will I receive a proprietorship incorporation certificate?+

There is no universal central incorporation certificate for a proprietorship. Evidence of business comes from the relevant registrations and records.

02Is the business separate from its owner?+

The proprietor and business are not separate legal persons in the way a company is.

03Does every proprietor need GST?+

No blanket answer applies. Turnover, supply, location, exemptions and registration provisions need to be reviewed.
