Trademarks & intellectual property

Trademark search.

Review potentially conflicting marks and relevant classes before deciding how to file.

Scope before commitment Requirements explained
01 / THE BIG PICTURE

The right support.
With the details in view.

Understand the trademark landscape before committing to a brand name or logo. We define relevant goods and services, review similar marks and report practical filing risks. A search supports a decision; it cannot rule out every earlier right, unregistered use or later objection by the Registry.

First, establish what applies

Search, application, examination and grant or registration are different stages. Assess ownership, prior rights, classes and evidence with the relevant IP professional; an application does not guarantee protection.

What the scoped work can cover

  • Agreed class and search scope
  • Search findings with relevant mark references
  • Practical filing-risk and next-step note
02 / GET READY

The documents.
A clearer starting point.

Use this as a preparation list for the initial review. The final checklist is confirmed against the applicant, service route, location and current authority requirements.

  1. 01

Proposed word mark and any logo artwork

  2. 02

Plain-language list of goods and services

  3. 03

    Planned sales channels and markets

  4. 04

Details of current use, if any

  5. 05

Known competitors or similar brand names

Share sensitive records only through an agreed secure channel after the engagement is confirmed. Do not send passwords, OTPs or signing keys.

03 / HOW IT MOVES FORWARD

One step.
Then the next.

A clear sequence, with room to resolve the details that are specific to your business.

  1. 01

    Define the search

Identify the mark, relevant classes and the business uses that matter.

  2. 02

    Review comparable marks

Search relevant registers for identical, phonetic and otherwise similar marks within the agreed scope.

  3. 03

    Assess the findings

Review status, goods or services overlap and the main practical conflict risks.

  4. 04

    Choose a filing direction

Discuss filing the mark, narrowing the specification or considering a different brand before application.

Scope, fees and timing are agreed after review. Document readiness, professional review and any authority queries affect the schedule. Statutory charges, testing, execution and other third-party costs are identified where relevant.

04 / BEYOND THIS STEP

Keep the next
responsibility in view.

Revisit the search when the brand, logo or goods and services change, and consider a separately scoped watch service after filing.

05 / A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Good questions.
Useful answers.

01Does a clear search guarantee registration?+

No. Registry examination, prior unregistered rights and third-party opposition may still affect the application.

02Should I search the company name as well?+

Company-name availability and trademark clearance are different checks. Approval of one does not establish rights in the other.

03Is a word-mark search enough for a logo?+

A logo may need a visual or device-mark review in addition to its words. The search scope should match the protection you intend to seek.
