EPF registration & returns.

Assess employer coverage and support applicable contributions and filings.

Scope before commitment Requirements explained
01 / THE BIG PICTURE

The right support.
With the details in view.

EPF support starts with establishment and employee coverage, not simply creating a portal login. Where applicable, organise establishment records, employee membership details and contribution data so registration and recurring reporting remain consistent with payroll. Prior coverage, excluded employees and contractor arrangements need separate review.

First, establish what applies

Coverage depends on the establishment, employee count, wages, location and current labour provisions. State registrations and professional tax are not uniform across India.

What the scoped work can cover

  • Establishment and membership coverage review
  • Registration or employee-data preparation within scope
  • Contribution reconciliation and filing records
02 / GET READY

The documents.
A clearer starting point.

Use this as a preparation list for the initial review. The final checklist is confirmed against the applicant, service route, location and current authority requirements.

  1. 01

Entity formation, PAN, establishment address and authorised signatory records

  2. 02

Nature of activity, commencement date, branches and employee-strength history

  3. 03

Employee wage records, joining dates and existing UAN or membership details

  4. 04

Bank and establishment registration records requested by the current route

  5. 05

Prior EPF code, contribution statements and challans, if already registered

Share sensitive records only through an agreed secure channel after the engagement is confirmed. Do not send passwords, OTPs or signing keys.

03 / HOW IT MOVES FORWARD

One step.
Then the next.

A clear sequence, with room to resolve the details that are specific to your business.

  1. 01

    Assess coverage

Review the establishment, employee history, existing membership and relevant provisions.

  2. 02

    Organise the establishment record

Reconcile identity, address, activity and signatory information for the applicable route.

  3. 03

    Prepare contributions and reporting

Check employee-level wage and membership data before submitting agreed returns or ECR records.

  4. 04

    Reconcile payments

Match employer-approved contribution payments with payroll and maintain the evidence.

Scope, fees and timing are agreed after review. Document readiness, professional review and any authority queries affect the schedule. Statutory charges, testing, execution and other third-party costs are identified where relevant.

04 / BEYOND THIS STEP

Keep the next
responsibility in view.

Reconcile payroll and contribution records each period, update joiner and leaver information and monitor changes in establishment or worker coverage.

05 / A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Good questions.
Useful answers.

01Does incorporation automatically complete EPF compliance?+

An allotted establishment code does not replace a coverage review, employee onboarding, contributions or reporting where these are required.

02Should every employee be enrolled in the same way?+

Prior membership, wages and applicable provisions matter. Review each employee’s position rather than assuming one treatment for everyone.

03Are contractor workers relevant?+

Principal-employer and contractor responsibilities may need review. Keep deployment, wage and contribution evidence aligned with the actual arrangement.
